Two Are Better Available for Purchase

Book Arrival DayAll the hard work and attention to detail that goes into producing and publishing a full-color book came to fruition on December 14th when our first shipment of books arrived from our printer in Minnesota. What an exciting time! The box was a little tattered and torn, but the long awaited memoir of our bike trip, courtship, and new marriage is all in one piece. The book looks FANTASTIC! When I perused it in its final form, tears came to my eyes as I relived the thrill of biking across this beautiful country with my best friend and husband.

Yesterday was bittersweet. The day was so full of heartbreak for a small town in Connecticut and for all the elementary teachers, parents, and children across this great land. I came home from school looking forward to our books’ arrival and not knowing much about what happened in Newtown. Yet, I realized in my role in public education that these types of tragedies will impact the lives of so many, and point to the vulnerability of our children despite a setting that has traditionally represented safety for them. Ironically, we received our book, which shines a light on how God has blessed us non-stop throughout our lives, while evil reigned in the heart of one young man who killed twenty children. Gone are their hopes and dreams and the quality of the remaining lives of those attached to them. It is difficult to be joyful in the midst of such devastating grief.

Our hope is that our book provides inspiration, motivation, and desire to pursue dreams even in the midst of pain, heartbreak, and evil. There will always be good and evil, joy and sorrow, love and hate. We pray that you can rise above the sorrows of the landscape around you. Pray for the brokenhearted and celebrate the good that is all around us, even in the midst of tragedy.

Great job! I couldn’t put your book down. I enjoyed following your adventure across country and enjoyed seeing how God blessed your relationship! Sometimes waiting for God’s plan to become evident is difficult, but evidently, always perfectly planned. I can’t wait to read your next book “Bicycle Touring…” I am planning a week long trip this summer, thanks to your motivation. Thanks for sharing your experience and relationship with us.
God bless, keep riding & writing!
