“During 2013, The Organization provided content to 60 radio affiliates serving more than 200,000 listeners in the United States and Canada. Radio programming is also available via a 24/7 internet stream featuring replays of the most recent “DMLive” radio show, or a continuous positive music stream embedded with recordings of calls to Dawson. The stream is accessible via the organization’s website, or a free smartphone application available to android and iPhone devices. The application will also allow users to connect with a HopeCoach if they need help.
“In conjunction with the radio and internet programs, the Organization created and manages TheHopeLine, an off-air, toll-free support organization serving teenagers and young adults worldwide between the ages of 13-29. TheHopeLine interacted with nearly 40,000 teenagers and young adults in 2013 via one-on-one telephone conversations, text messaging and online chat interactions. TheHopeLine is supported by over 100 trained volunteers and 16 ministry funded staff consisting of 15 part-time HopeCoaches and a full time manager. Additionally, TheHopeLine specializes in encouraging the young people to connect with one of 20 vetted faith-based partners providing specific services addressing the specific needs of the caller or online chatter. Moreover, TheHopeLine offers tangible resources including bibles, books, eBooks and more, which provide encouragement, education and support to those who seek to receive help.”
